The Sabbath Day

The holiness of the Sabbath is in our hearts as much as our actions. Henry Ward Beecher expressed this truth when he said: "a world without a Sabbath would be like a man without a smile, like a summer without flowers, and like a homestead without a garden. It is a joyous day of the whole week."

A Little About the Links

I hope you will navigate the links associated with this blog. The New Era link has downloadable audio articles in .mp3 format and other super things that are in keeping with our young people. The Scripture Mastery link brings up games that can help with scripture mastery memorization. I'm impressed with all of the church websites and the way they are keeping up with "the times" by using these amazing technologies to spread the gospel. We are truly blessed to live in this day and age.

The Fellowship of the Unashamed

I am part of the fellowship of the unashamed. The dye has been cast. I have stepped over the line. The decision has been made. I am a disciple of Jesus Christ. I won’t look back, let up, slow down, or be still. My past is redeemed, my present makes sense, and my future is secure. I’m finished and done with low living, small planning, smooth knees, colorless dreams, tamed visions, worldly talking, cheap giving, and dwarfed goals. I no longer need preeminence, promotions, plaudits, or popularity. I don’t have to be right, first, recognized, praised, regarded, or rewarded. I now live by faith, lean on His presence, am uplifted by prayer, and labor with power. My face is set, my gait is fast, my goal is Heaven. My road is narrow, my way is rough my companions are few, my guide is reliable, my mission is clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, divided, or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of the adversary, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity, or meander in the maze of mediocrity. I won’t give up, shut up, or let up, until I have stayed up, stored up, and paid up for the cause of Christ. I must go till He comes, give till I drop, preach till all know, and work till he stops me. And when He returns for his own He will have no problem recognizing me. My banner will be clear.

Scripture Mastery Pictures

Our fine young people designed some great pictures to help them remember the first 10 scripture mastery scriptures we are learning this year. I didn't know we had so much talent amongst us!! Parents, Ask your student which picture they drew and which scripture mastery it correlates with. What a great way to reinforce their knowledge and their familiarity with locating scriptures. This can only boost their confidence as they prepare to share the gospel with others!!

Prayer

This past week we learned that Jesus would go off by Himself pray. I have felt that this is something that we should do. There have been periods in my life where I slack off in saying my daily prayers, and throughout the rest of the day, I worry about it. So, I'm pretty sure that we should take time to pray (preferably meaningful prayers). I feel that it is important to establish a personal connection with our Heavenly Father. I'm not saying that I have one, but I understand the importance of having one.
