The First Day

The first day of Seminary has come and gone, but the youth showed up on time and were kept busy filling out information sheets about themselves. We then had a lesson on the roles of the Holy Ghost, Teacher and Student in our Seminary Class. We all agreed that the Holy Ghost's role was to teach both the teacher and the student. The youth said that the teacher's role is to provide an atmosphere in which the Holy Ghost can be present, to be prepared, to help the student's learn more about the gospel, scripture mastery and to help prepare the youth for missions. The youth then said that their role as students was to attend, be awake, pay attention, have open hearts, to contribute to the class and also to apply the things they are learning to their lives. (I'm sure I've forgotten some of what they said, but it was all great!) There was a great spirit there and I know I thoroughly enjoyed being back with these awesome youth. I think we are going to have a terrific year!

2008 Theme

This year's theme comes from John 8:28. It speaks of what we can do to know our Savior and gain a testimony of his divinity and purpose. Please join us as we progress throughout the year, sharing our feelings about our Redeemer and what he means to us. Hopefully, you will find uplifting and edifying things among our posts. Our hope is that this will strengthen all of us as we spend more time pondering the Messiah and his message to each of us to come unto him.
